These answers describe how the live game behaves. They are not cricket-law primers. For draft legality, ratings, and difficulty knobs, start with How to Play. For which button to press, see Modes. Longer strategy — IPL venues, how grades are anchored, Casual vs Ruthless, Auction Trilogy, and a catalog XI — is on Guides. Dated product changes are on What's New.
After both XIs are legal, CricClash runs a ball-by-ball simulation. Each delivery is resolved from the batters and bowlers on the field, their season ratings, the innings situation, and the venue. You watch the scoreboard; you do not time a cover drive. ODI modes are fifty overs a side. IPL is twenty. Fast-forward exists on the live board; in Versus only the batting side can use it.
Both, on purpose. Ratings (BAT, POW, BWL) and pitch modifiers shift the probabilities. A shared random seed then draws the actual balls. In Versus the server issues one seed for the whole match so both phones see the same innings. Re-simulating the same two XIs with a different seed can produce a different score; that is variance, not a second, hidden XI. The AI difficulty setting does not re-roll the innings — it only changes how the computer drafted and how it elected to bat or bowl.
Each name in a squad is a season snapshot, not a career average. BAT is batting quality across a long innings. POW is power and strike-rate ceiling. BWL is bowling threat. A player can be elite BAT in one IPL year and merely useful in another. Easy difficulty shows the three numbers on the card. Hard hides them so you draft from knowledge of the player and the year on the wheel.
Eleven filled batting slots, each player inside their allowed position range, a wicketkeeper in the side, and a bowling attack that is five specialist bowlers, or four bowlers plus one all-rounder, or three bowlers plus two all-rounders. Miss the attack or the keeper and the side can be disqualified before a ball. IPL adds a cap of four overseas players in the XI.
It is ordinary cricket scoring generated by the sim: runs, wickets, extras, and overs. ODI innings last up to 300 balls. T20 innings last up to 120, with a four-over cap per bowler and no consecutive overs for the same bowler. The winner is the higher total. There is no fantasy-point overlay and no betting line on the result.
No separate App Store or Play Store build. Open playcricclash.com in a phone browser. The layout is built for a narrow column; Versus is meant to work with two people on two devices sharing a room code. Add the site to your home screen if you want an icon — that is still the same website, not a native binary.
No accounts and no sign-up to play. Auction Trilogy’s ₹ Cr purse is simulated money inside the room. CricClash does not take deposits, offer cash prizes, or settle real-world bets. Local storage on your device holds things like a Versus win/loss record and, if you opt in, a leaderboard handle. See Privacy for what is stored.
Turns are timed (about thirty seconds). If the clock expires, a legal name is placed for you so the room does not stall. You also get one re-roll of the current squad per pick. If the current squad has no legal option left — for example every remaining overseas name is blocked by the IPL cap — the room can grant a bonus roll or award a walkover rather than let you freeze.
That button is not on the live home screen. The current single-human path is AI Match (Expert vs AI). Head-to-head paths are Versus, Elite Pitch, Auction Trilogy, and IPL Versus.
